Privacy Policy
Last updated: 15 October 2026
iKnowBall ("we", "us") runs the daily football guessing game at iknowball.co.uk. This policy explains what data we collect and why. We process data under UK GDPR.
What we collect
- Account details: your email address and display name. If you sign in with Google, we receive your email and a Google account identifier.
- Game data: your guesses, daily results, scores, streaks and leaderboard points.
- Guest play: a random guest identifier and the nickname you choose, so your scores can be shown and later linked to an account.
- Notifications: if you turn on reminders, a device token used only to send the daily game alert.
- Basic usage analytics, such as page visits and game completion, to improve the game.
Storage on your device
We use your browser's local storage to save game progress, stats and your sign-in session. These are essential for the game to work. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
How we use it
To run the game, show leaderboards, keep you signed in, send reminders you asked for, and fix problems. We never sell your data. Leaderboards show your display name or nickname only, never your email.
WhatsApp channel
Our WhatsApp channel is run by WhatsApp. Other followers cannot see your number, and we do not receive it.
Who processes data for us
Secure hosting and database providers, Google (for Google sign-in) and Firebase (for push notifications).
How long we keep it
We keep your account and results while your account exists. You can ask us to delete them at any time.
Your rights
You can ask to access, correct, export or delete your data, or object to how we use it. You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
Children
iKnowBall is not aimed at children under 13, and they should not create an account.
